UNP Will Take a Decision on Ravi Only After Examining The Explanation Given to the Bond Commission
Former Finance Minister and Current Minister of Foreign Affairs Ravi Karunanayake appeared before the Bond Commission on 2nd August . To most of the questions asked he replied that he didn’t know anything about it. It ran into criticism by opposition politicians .
UNP sources said, that the party will take a decision on Ravi only after closely examining the replies he has given to questions raised in the Bond Commission. One of the Ministers reported to have said, that there are other Ministers and MPs involved in this bond scam. Hence, rushing to take action against Ravi is unfair .
In the meantime, a group of UNP Ministers and MPs reported to have been preparing to represent this matter to the Prime Minister and insist on taking steps immediately. If no action is taken, they intend to vote in favour of the no confident motion against Ravi, a newspaper reported.
