CAA will Take Action Against Violators of Maximum Retail Price on Rice

The Consumer Affairs Authority will take tough measures against individuals who exceed the maximum retail price imposed on rice.

Consumer Affairs Authority said, that  traders and retailers should comply with the gazette notification which specified the maximum retail price on rice.

The maximum retail price of a locally produced kilogram of Samba was set at Rs 90, while a kilogram of Nadu rice was set at Rs 80 .

In the meantiime, the maximum retail price of a kilogram of red rice was set at Rs 78 . The price of a kilogram of imported samba rice is priced at Rs 80 while a kilogram of imported Nadu rice is set at Rs 75 .

The maximum retail price on a kilogram of imported red rice was set at Rs  65.
