Speaker Referred No Confidence Motion to AG

In parliaament yesterday, NFF Leader Wimal Weerawansa  raised a point of order demanding to know, why the Government was delaying the process of the motion and what hinders the Government from taking the motion for debate.
During  Party Leaders’ meeting  held yesterday, it was argued that the motion could not be debated in Parliament as the matter is being investigated by the Presidential Commission, Speaker announced in parliament , while responding to opposition demand to take no confidence motion for debate without delay.
Speaker Jayasuriya said that he  need to consult the Attorney General in this regard. When he receive the Attorney General’s response,  the House would be informed of the future course of action with regard to the No Confidence motion against Ravi Karunanayake tomorrow (10).
