MR Faction  to File Case Against Postponing  PC Election

Issuing a statement ,former President and Kurunegala District Parliamentarian Mahinda Rajapaksa stated, the government is attempting to delay the election of the Sabaragamuwa, North Central and Eastern provincial council elections where the official terms of the offices end in October. 20th amendment had been tabled in Parliament  with this purpose, which  violates the principles of democracy.

Hence, he is prepared to go before the Supreme Court and seek justice.

The Former President noted members of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party that oppose the delay will unite with the Joint Opposition to voice their dissent.
