Tilak Marapana to be the next FM?

Minister of Development Assignments Tilak Marapana is likely to be appointed   as Foreign Minister in place of MP Ravi Karunanayake who came under the pressure following his alleged involvement in the ongoing bond scam and resigned.

Well informed sources from the government more or less confirmed that Marapana is likely to be appointed to the post. “Mr. Marapana is the most likely choice of both the President and the Prime Minister and should take oaths shortly,” sources said. He is likely to be sworn in tomorrow according to sources.

Earlier, Tilak was compelled to resign from his portfolio, as he has appeared as a lawyer for Avant Garde maritime Security services, which was accused of financial irregularity and frauds.
