R.Sampanthan Seeks International Community’s Intervention ….
Leader of the Opposition cum TNA Leader R. Sampanthan has sent a letter to the Commissioner of United Nation Human Rights Commission and Foreign Embassies in Srilanka requesting International Community’s Intervention in getting the lands occupied by Army for a long time released.
Keppapulavu people in Mullaithievu continued to engage in struggle to obtain their native lands from Army. Several discussions were held in the past. In addition R. Sampanthan has written the President and sought his intervention, but of no result . Hence, he was compelled to seek the intervention of the International Community. Though he has written and asked the President to grant an opportunity to meet and discuss about the release of lands of the Kopapilavu people, neither reply nor appointment was granted.
He has forwarded all copies of letters sent to the President ,Prime Minister and Secretary of Defence along with his letter.
