UNP  Central working Committee Meeting Ended Without  Any Decision

The UNP Central Working Committee met today at Sirikotha at 10.30am  and ended at 12.10pm. During the meeting  several members accused  Minister of Justice Wijedasa Rajapaksa for not taking adequate  steps  to accelerate  the cases  of massive frauds and corruptions committed by officials and members of the previous regime.  In addition,   they blamed him for stating that ’’Wijedasa won’t rest until such time  the Hambantota Port  issue is brought to an end’’.
In reply Wijedasa Rajapaksa said, that the delay in prosecuting  officials and members of the previous regime  for their frauds and corruptions is beyond his control. Further,  he denied having  made such a statement on Hambantota Port . But  UNP members who raised these issues  remained unshaken and maintained  their  stand, stated Harsa de Silva in his tweet .
Towards the end of the meeting  Prime Minister Ranil Wickramesinghe  has taken Wijedasa Rajapaksa to an adjoining place  to further discuss the matter privately.
UNP’s Central Working Committee meeting ended up thus without taking any decision.
