Ex-Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga will return to the island today, political reports stated.
Kumaratunga left the island a week ago on what was described as a pre-arranged visit. However, it was widely speculated that she left the country dejected, following the decision to grant nominations from the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) to Mahinda Rajapaksa.
She is expected to make a statement on the nomination issue once she returned to the island.
Kumaratunga is also expected to take part in the election campaign for the United National Front for Good Governance.
