Weather Forecast For 23rd August 2017

There is a high possibility of afternoon thundershowers in the Eastern, Uva, Northern and North-Central provinces in today and tomorrow (23^rd and 24^th).Cloudy skies can be expected at most parts of the island.

Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in the Eastern, Uva, Northern and North-Central provinces after 2.00 p.m.Fairly heavy falls (about 50 mm) can be expected at some places particularly in the Trincomalee, Batticaloa, Mullaitivu, Vauniya, Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa districts.

Several spells of light showers will occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-western and Southern provinces.

(There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.)
