Review of Mahinda’s SLFP Adviser Post

In  the press brief held in Colombo yesterday, while  answering a question raised by  a journalist regarding Mahinda’s public announcement, that he is the leader of the SLFP still,  Minister Vijitha Vijayamuni said, that according to the provisions in the SLFP constitution , if  a member of the SLFP is elected as the Executive President, he or she should be the president of the party. This was followed when Rajapaksa assumed duty as Executive  President and Chandrika gave up SLFP leadership then.

As he has made public announcement challenging the current leadership, whether to allow him to hold the post of Adviser will be reviewed in the next working committee meeting of the SLFP, he concluded.
