Cut on 10% Internet Telecommunications Tax

The government  decision to reduce the 10% telecommunications tax on internet services comes into effect from today.

Minister of Finance Mangala Samaraweera said telecommunication providers have also decided to provide 10% more data as a result of the decision to waive off the telecommunication tax.

The Ministry of Finance said consumers will accordingly receive 20% data concession from today.
