Island Wide Token Strike by Public Health Inspectors Today

President of the Sri Lanka Public Health Inspectors’ (PHI) Association Upul Rohana said, that  they have decided to launch an island wide token strike  today (4).

They are resorting to trade union action in protest of the arbitrary transfers imposed by the Health Secretary on five PHIs attached to the Jaffna Municipal Council.  Further he stated that they will resort to an indefinite strike action if authorities fail to provide solutions to their issues.
