20th Amendment Passed in Sabaragamuwa PC

The 20th amendment to hold Provincial Council PC polls on the same day have so far been passed in the North Central, Eastern and Western provincial councils.

The 20th Amendment to the Constitution was taken for debate today at the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council. At the end of the debate vote was called while 29 councilors voted in favour of the draft bill  eight voted against it and  another six members were absent during the vote. Hence,  the 20th amendment was comfortably  passed  in Sabaragamuwa Provincial Councilwith a majority of 21 votes today .
