Weather Forecast For 26th September 2017

Prevailing rainy conditionin the south-western part of the country is expected during next few days.

Strong gusty winds can be expected over surrounding sea areas of the island and also fairlystrong gusty winds can be expected over the Northern, North-central, North- western and Central provinces and in Hambantota district.

Showers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Southern provinces, fairly heavy showers (about 75-100 mm) can be expected at some places particularly in the southern province and Kaluthara and Rathnapura districts.

Showers or thunder showers may occur at few places in the Uva province and in Ampara,Batticaloaand Vauniya districtsafter 2.00p.m.

Several spells of showers may occur in the North-western province and in Mannar and Jaffna districts.

There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
