Weather Forecast For 28th September 2017

Prevailing rainy conditionin the south-western part of the country is expected to decrease to certain extent after today.

Strong gusty winds (60-70kmph) can be expected over surrounding sea areas of the island and fairly strong gusty winds (40-50kmph) can be expected over the island, particularly in the Northern, North-central, North- western, Uva and Central provinces and in Hambantota district.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central,North-western provincesand in the Galle and Matara districts. Fairly heavy showers (about 75 mm) can be expected at some places.

Showers may occur at several places elsewhere particularly in the Mannar, Jaffna and Hambantota districts.

There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
