US Embassy Closed Today

On 12^th October 1492  Christopher Columbus  landed and discovered America. Hence, Americans celebrate this day as Columbus day.

Although, 12^th October was declared  as the Columbus day, in practice 2^nd Monday in October is being celebrated as the  Columbus day.

Accordingly , today is the Columbus day.  In order to facilitate Columbus day celebrations  American Embassy in Colombo remains closed today.
