Namal’s Supporters Burned Tyres Across the Road to Prevent Him Taken to Tangalle Prison

MP Namal Rajapakshe and five others were arrested last night for leading a protest demonstration in front of the Mattala Airport violating the court order. They were produced before in the court. The Magistrate
ordered to remand them till 16 th October 2017.

While they were taken in prison van to Tangalle prison, supporters of MP Namal Rajapakshe reported to have burned tyres across the road In a bid to prevent Namal and five of his accomplices being taken to Tangalle
prison.

Special Task Force came into the scene and removed all obstacles placed and paved the way for the prison van to take them to Tangalle prison. Security has been tightened in and around the area, police reported.
