Badulla Magistrate Issued Restraining Order Against  Demonstration  

A group led by the Convenor of the Collective JVP Provincial Councillor Samantha Vidyarathna for People’s Movement against the Uma Oya Project has organized a protest demonstration  today(11) in Badulla against the Uma Oya Development project.

The police has made an application  to the Badulla Magistrate stating  that   public property could be damaged  and  the public could  also be inconvenienced.

After considering the application made by the police, the Badulla Magistrate’s Court has  issued  restraining order preventing  the protesters entering the premises of the Badulla Secretariat and the Divisional Secretariat between 8:30am and 4:30pm today.
