UAV with Drone Camera pose Security Threat to Srilanka?
Air Force Commander Air Marshal Kapila Jeyampathy said , that Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) fitted with drone camera pose security threat to Srilanka. He made this observation while addressing the journalists at Air Force Head Quarters. He further sais, steps have been taken to minimize the danger and challenges thrown by these UAVs.
Technical development makes the life pattern easy, but things like UAV has become a real threat to National Security of respective countries.
According to existing regulations in Srilanka anyone to possess a drone of which is more than 1 Kg in weight, approval of the Civil Aviation Department should be obtained. Air Force monitor licensing such drones.
Regarding this type of threat Srilanka Air Force exchange views with the other countries in the international forum, he concluded.
