Gammanpila to Appear Before the Colombo Additional Magistrate on 30th

 The Assistant Superintendent of the Police Special Investigation Unit has been ordered to appear before the Colombo Additional Magistrate on the 30th of October with all investigative reports regarding to Parliamentarian Udaya Gammanpila.

The order was issued by Colombo High Court Judge AAR Heiyyanthuduwa. The evidence hearing in the case against Parliamentarian Udaya Gammanpila and Sidney Jayasinghe, on charges misappropriating  Rs 2.1 million  from an Australian couple by using a forged Attorneys permit, commenced yesterday.

Investigative officers had not produced the required documents to court, in order to cross examine the defendant in the case Australian National Brian Shedik.

Accordingly, after taking into consideration a request made by the Additional Solicitor General, the presiding Judge had ordered the officers to submit all relevant documents on the 30th of  October.
