“We don’t use Temple Trees for Political activities” – PM

 

Prime Minister (PM) Ranil Wickremesinghe states that he does not use the Temple Trees or the Prime Minister’s Office for political activities.

The Prime Minister had told the Election Commissioner during a telephone conversation with the election Commissioner.

The Prime Minister had informed the Election Commissioner in response to allegations certain persons have made in the political arena.

A senior Presidential Secretariat official said that during the telephone call the Prime Minister had informed the Election Commissioner to carry out an inspection at any time if there is any doubt that Temple Trees or the Prime Ministerial Office is used for political activities.

The Prime Minister had stated further that if necessary, an election secretariat official could be appointed full time at Temple Trees and the Prime Minister’s Office for monitoring purposes.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says that all should work together to create a brighter future.

The Prime Minister said so while participating at a people’s rally held in Hettipola in Kurunegala yesterday.
