Peradeniya University’s Former Accountant Arrested by CID

The Criminal Investigations Department has arrested an accountant , who worked for the Postgraduate Institute of Science of the University of Peradeniya for allegedly laundering Rs. 70 million.
 The CID said he was arrested yesterday, when he returned from a overseas. The Vice Chancellor of the Peradeniya University, Upul Dissanayake, said the alleged thievery took place in the year 2014, and that he had allegedly obtained the money from bank accounts of the institute.
