SL Muslims Pushed to a State of Frustration- Rishad

Minister of Industry and Commerce cum Leader of the All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC) met visiting UN Special Rapporteur at his UN Office this morning and briefed the plight of Srilanka Muslims today.
Minister has told the UN Special Rapporteur that Muslims worked hard to bring this government to power. But the way they are treated they are now frustrated. He told him that resettlement of Muslims, land disputes, non-payment of compensation for life and property lost during the war and other acute problems faced by the Muslims remains unaddressed and unresolved. In introducing new election system and in drafting new constitution Muslim aspirations were not considered and incorporated.
Muslims didn’t support separatism or asked for it at any stage. They lived peacefully with other ethnic groups peacefully. But hate speeches are the order of the day in Srilanka today. He requested the UN special rapporteur to ensure the rights of the Muslims in the UN. He has undertaken to refer it in his final report to the UN.
