Furious Teacher St Fire to Student’s Books?

Shifting a class room from one place to another took place under the supervision of a female teacher, in one of the schools coming under the purview of the Anurdhapura Educational Zone in North Central Province.

On this particular day one of the Grade V student did not attend school and participate in the shifting. This made the female teacher furious. She collected all the books left in the school used by this particular student and set fire to it.

As this student didn’t attend private tuition given by her to Grade V scholarship students, she did this parents of the student alleged. Even 21 other students who didn’t attend her private tuition class are being harassed in different ways, their parents alleged. Although the mother of the student has complained this incident to the Education authorities, no action has been taken so far in this connection.
