The petition filed against Deputy Minister Ranjan Ramanayake on charges of Contempt of Court will be taken up for hearing today(25).
The petition will be heard before a three-member Supreme Court bench.
Earlier, the Supreme Court issued notice to Deputy Minister Ramanayake to appear before Court after taking into consideration a petition by Venerable Magalkande Sudatha thera and several organisations of war heroes.
The petition cites a statement made by Deputy Minister Ramanayake on the 21st of August regarding judges was an insult to the judiciary.
