Landslide Warnings Issued by NBRO 

The Disaster Management Centre has taken measures to evacuate 6 families in Nuwara-Eliya due to the risk of landslides following the prevailing weather condition.

Assistant Director of DMC Pradeep Kodippili said, that  showers will enhance over the next few days.

 He further said heavy showers are expected in the Ratnapura district, including the Northern and Uva Provinces.

According the landslide warnings issued by the National Building Research Organization in the Nuwara-Eliya, Matale, Kegalle, Kandy and Ratnapura districts has been extended.

The Disaster Management Centre  has requested residents in hill areas to remain alert and evacuate immediately at any signs of landslide or if rainfall of more than 150mm is experienced.
