Charges to be Framed Against Gamini Senarat

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s Chief of Staff, Gamini Senarath and two others alleged to have misappropriated a large amount of money from the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and Sri Lanka Insurance to run a private company owned by them.
FCID carried out investigation on this matter and sent the file for advice to the Attorney General’s Department .The Attorney General’s Department in turn has directed the FCID to institute criminal action against Gamini Senarath and two others under the Criminal Procedure Code informed sources disclosed. He will be charged for misappropriating a large amount of money. The AG has made these recommendations after studying the legal implications.
Two other individuals, Piyadasa Kudabalage and Neil Bandara were shareholders in the company and they have worked to divert funds from the EPF and Sri Lanka Insurance to the company.
