Govt. Solution to  SAITM  Issue to be Discussed by GMOA Today

The government has proposed a final solution to resolve SAITM issue. Members of the GMOA expressed their view somewhat accepting it to a certain extent .Different views had been expressed by different people on this final solution.

 Hence, the President has appointed a committee Chaired by Deputy Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs Dr. Harsha De Silva, which includes the Secretary of the Health Ministry, Secretary for the Ministry of Higher Education, the Chairman of the University Grants Commission, the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Medical Council, Vice Chancellors of Sri Jayewardenepura and Colombo Universities and two deans from the Colombo and Kelaniya Universities to implement the government’s final decisions on SAITM.

A special meeting of the Central Committee of the Government Medical Officers Association is scheduled to be held today at the Association’s headquarters at 10am to discuss about Government’s  final solution  on SAITM and the new committee appointed to implement the solution.
