Rishad Directs Sathosa to Provide Coconut at Low Price & 17 Lakhs of Coconuts to be Sold at Rs 65…….

Sathosa Chairman D.M.K.P.Tennakone has announced in a press conference held yesterday (8), that on direction given by the Minister of Industry and Commerce Rishad Badiutheen to buy coconut and sell at low price to consumers through Sathosa branches, steps have been taken to buy coconuts 5lakhs from Live Stock Resources Board, 3 lakhs from Chilaw plantation, 3 lakhs from Kurunegala plantation and 1 lakh from Alkaduwa plantation, totalling to 12 lakhs and sell it at Rs65.00 through island wide 370 Sathosa branches commencing from next week. Considering December being festival month, Sathosa proposed to buy further 5 lakhs of coconuts making a total of 17 lakhs and sell it to consumers at Rs 65.00 through Sathosa, Tennakone concluded.
