GMOA Back to Base?

GMOA had staged various protest demonstrations and struck work on and off against SAITM in the past crippling the health services. They stopped their anti SAITM campaign after the government made its’ proposal public.

A committee chaired by the Deputy Minister Harsha De Silva was appointed by the President Maithreepala Sirisena to discuss relevant issues with parties concerned and implement the government proposal. However, parents of University students commenced fast unto death campaign until SAITM is closed. Deputy Minister went to the venue, where they were on fast and declared that SAITM would be closed. With this announcement they called off their fast unto death campaign. Followed by above development, GMOA met and decided to continue anti SAITM struggle after 13 th , if no action is taken to close down SAITM.
