No Petrol Shortage – CPC

Amidst scenes of queues building up at filling stations fuelling fears of another petrol shortage, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CP) said yesterday all its depots had been provided with ample stocks of fuel and therefore there was no reason to panic.

CPC Chairman Dhammika Ranatunga informed that 27,479 tonnes of 92 Octane petrol were available in the facilities at Kolonnawa and Muthurajawela.

He  further said the owners of fuel depots had been instructed to be on standby as stocks would be delivered to them shortly.

There was a text message that had been circulated  day before yesterday about a petrol shortage in the country.
