UNP MP Thushara insists Resignation of Sunil Handunetti from the post of Chairman of COPE

In a press conference held at the parliamentary complex yesterday (22), UNP Member of Parliament Thushara called upon  Sunil Handunetti to resign from the post of Chairman of the COPE.
He said that JVP Member of Parliament Sunil Handunetti was recommended for the post of Chairman of the COPE by the Minister Rauf Hakeem and Deputy Minister Ajith Perera. If Ajith Perera is disqualified to be a member of the CCOPE, Sunil Handunetti who was appointed on Ajith Perera’s recommendation too should resign from the post of Chairman of the COPE.
During the previous regime, on 29th March 2011, the owner of Perpetual Treasuries Limited Arjun  Aloysius had given Rs 15 million to Hambantota Project.  His company had been involved in many other matters with the Central Bank. Hence, all these matters should be probed, he emphasized.
