Landslide Warning to Certain Areas in Matale & Kandy District

Disaster Management Centre has announced that the landslide warning issued for Matale and Kandy areas. Due to 75mm rainfall recorded within the past 24 hours, National Building Research Organization (NBRO) requests civilians in Matale and Kandy district to be on alert on the possibility of landslides, slope failures,rock falls, cut failures and ground subsidence and ready to evacuate to a safe location, if rains continue. Possible landslide warning in Lakkala.Pallekala Pradesha Secretary Division and surroundings areas, Alkaduwa Pradesha Secretary Division and surroundings of Matala and in Madadumbura Pradesha Secretary Division and its surroundings in Kandy has been issued.
