Three Sluice Gates of Upper Kotmale Reservoir Opened

Due to heavy rain fall 3 sluice gates of the upper Kotmale reservoir are opened this morning (30). Reservoir engineers cautioned the people living adjoining it to be on alert.

Meanwhile heavy rainfall has caused water level in St Clairs water fall risen to unprecedented level along with increasing water level in all other reservoirs in the upcountry.

In the meantime, Police has warned possible land slide along Hatton- Colombo and Hatton- Nuweraeliya main roads.
