Train Engine Drivers to Go On Strike From Midnight Today

The Train engine drivers will launch an indefinite strike from midnight today (6) .

Secretary Indika Dodangoda said, that  officials have recruited railway engine assistants outside the stipulated protocol. He said the decision to resort to trade union action was reached in opposition to the move. He further said, Union continuously requested authorities to address the matter but to no avail.

He noted the decision was reached following a discussion of the Central Committee.
