SLFP’s Colombo Mayoral Candidate Azad Salley?

Azad Salley has previously served as the Deputy Mayor of the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) as a member of the United National Party (UNP).

Subsequently, he contested the Central Provincial Council under the UNP ticket. However, he resigned as a member of the Central Provincial Council in March 2016.

Later on he formed the National Unity Alliance (NUA) . Salley says that the President had made a request to him to contest Colombo Municipal Council as SLFP’s mayoral candidate.

Further, he stated that the central committee of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) is likely to reach a decision at its next meeting.
