Political Earth Quake in Colombo?

Former Minister Basil Rajapakshe is being identified by many SLFP members as the person responsible to weaken the SLFP. Further they believe that the SLFP’s defeat during the Presidential election was due to Basil Rajapakshe’s activities.

There is a stumbling block seen in reconciliation efforts taken to unite Mahinda and Maithree faction of the SLFP.

Under these circumstances a telephone conversation reported to have been reported between Maithreepala Sirisena and Mahinda Rajapakshe. During the telephone conversation both of them said to have discussed about the future of SLFP and the progress made in the reconciliation efforts. Certain other important political matters were also discussed.

Political observers say that this is a political earth quake.

Meanwhile President Maithreepala Sirisena and Mahinda Rajapakshe met each other at the wedding of Pasantha Yapa, son of State Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena.  Maithree and Mahinda   signed as witnesses today.
