Private Bus Operators Union Offers Free of Charge Transport to G.C.E (O.L) Students Sitting For Examination

The Chairman of the SLTB announced that railway season ticket holders could travel in state buses without any payment by producing the season tickets. But train passengers complain one finds hardly any space in overcrowded buses.

In the meantime , Private Bus Operators Association led by Gamunu Wijeratne announced in a press conference called on Sunday (10) that all students on school uniform holding railway season ticket will be allowed to travel in private buses free of charge. He further said, having considered the hardship faced by students sitting for the G.C.E.(O L) Examination that this decision was taken due to ongoing railway strike.
