Major General Prasanna de Silva questioned over ‘White Van’ incident

 

Investigation with regard to the three soldiers who were traveling in a van carrying a pistol and who were in civvies has been handed over to the Criminal Investigation division (CID).

Police media spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekera told since the soldiers concerned were in civvies at that time and the number plate of the van posed a problem the matter was handed over to the CID for further investigation.

Meanwhile, the Mirihana police obtained a three-hour statement from army major General Prasanna de Silva who claims ownership of the pistol, Police sources stated.
