CEB Hunger Strike Continues

The CEB employees have launched a hunger strike protesting against an alleged fraud committed by a high-ranking official during the distribution of salaries to CEB employees.

CEB Trade Union Secretary Ranjan Jayalal said, as the discussions held with the officials have failed, the hunger strike launched by the trade unions of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) in front of Fort CEB head office in
Colombo will continue for the third day today (13).

If the CEO or the government ignores their hunger strike, CEB employees will engage on a large scale strike action in future, he concluded.
