Minimum Qualifications For Medical Education Determined

The Cabinet has granted approval and announced the minimum qualification required to enter a medical faculty in Srilanka is 2 credit passes and one ordinary pass under the A/L science stream.

A cabinet sub-committee was appointed for the formulation of the minimum standards for medical education in Srilanka. It has submitted its’ report. Accordingly minimum qualification required to enter a medical faculty in Srilanka is 2 credit passes and one ordinary pass under the A/L science stream. The Cabinet has granted approval for above minimum qualification.

Accordingly, students studying at SAITM possessing this minimum qualification will be eligible to receive education at a government medical faculty or at a medical faculty created with government intervention.
