SLFP Central Committee to Meet Within Few Days

 

President Maithripala Sirisena has consented to convene the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Central Committee (SLFPCC) within the next few days.

This decision was taken when the General Secretary of Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Anura Priyadarshana Yapa and the General Secretary of the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) Susil Premajayantha met with the President last night.

Meanwhile, the meeting is likely to discuss the possibility of taking disciplinary action against those who left to contest the election under the United National Party (UNP) ticket.

Meanwhile, Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said yesterday that several SLFP ministers were seeking the Central Committee approval to resign from their ministerial posts.
