Violation of Election Rules 6 Complaints Received

Police spokesman Ruwan Gunasekera said, police has started recording complaints connection with the forthcoming local government election as from 15 th and no complaint lodged on the 16 th . Up to yesterday (17) six complaints have been received in respect of violating election rules. Complaints were lodged in Arachchikattu, Gampaha, Ampara, Moragahahena and Weligepola police divisions. One person was arrested in Weligepola police area for attacking opponents. Other complaints are in respect of tearing banners and preparing false nomination list with forged signatures etc.
