Strike Threat by CEB Employees.

The CEB employees went on a hunger strike protesting against a fraud alleged to be committed by a high-ranking official during the distribution of salaries to CEB employees.

As the discussions held with the officials failed, the hunger strike launched by the trade unions of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) was continued for the seventh  day yesterday (17) in front of CEB Head Office, Colombo, said Operational Committee member of the union M.G. Jayathilake.

If their issues are not solved by today, (18) the Joint Trade Union Alliance of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) said, they will resort to strike action.
