Former GMOA Secretaries Under Police Scrutiny

The election to select 4 members to vacant positions at the SLMC is scheduled to be held during 23rd and 24th of January next year.

In the meantime, the Srilanka Medical Council has lodged a complaint with the police that the former GMOA secretaries had come to the SLMC with 2 other doctors and had checked the postal voting list inside the watcher’s enclosure.

Based on written complaint lodged, a police investigation has been initiated against 2 former secretaries of Government Medical Officers’ Association, Dr. Nalinda Herath and Naveen de Zoysa.

The President of the SLMC Dr. Colvin Guneratne said, steps will be taken to obtain legal advice to take legal action against those doctors.
