Cabinet Approved Amendment of  Wildlife Act to Impose Life Sentence on Killers of Tuskers

The  Cabinet  has approved a proposal made by the Ministry of  Sustainable Development and Wildlife to amend the Wildlife Act, enabling to impose jail  term  for life,  if courts find the offender guilty for killing tuskers.

Under this amendment all police officers and wildlife officials will be empowered with additional legal powers to protect and ensure the survival of the tuskers.
