“Weerawansa Suffers From Slavish Mentality”: JVP

 

Responding to a statement made by National Freedom Front (NFF) leader Wimal Weerawansa, North Central Provincial Councilor Wasantha Samarasinghe on Thursday (23) stated that the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) does not care about the imaginations of people like Weerawansa.

Wimal Weerawansa yesterday accused JVP leader Anura Dissanayake of selling the JVP to the United National Party.

Mr. Samarasinghe stressed that Weerawansa was a servant at Medamulana Walawwa and was suffering from serious slavish mentality. He does not have a survival without Rajapaksa, Samarasinghe added.

“People like Weerawansa do not love the country. Everyone can understand that he only wants to gain personal benefits from a forged nationalism,” he said.

Therefore, the JVP does not have to worry about what he says, Samarasinghe said. The JVP cares only about creating a pleasant country in which every citizen can live happily and peacefully, he elaborated.

“Many citizens are gathering around the JVP at the moment because of the principles of the party. They have put their trust upon us and that is why Weerawansa has begun to imagine such things,” Samarasinghe also said.
