Action Would be Taken Regarding the Display of Cut-Outs & Posters Illegally Using Candidates’ & Politicians’ Images.

The Election Commission announced that displaying of cut-outs and posters using politicians’ images is against election law.

Action would be taken against candidates engaging in propaganda using their images, Police media spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekara said . Similarly, a candidate could display in his party office only his photograph and his political party leader’s image.

In the meantime, Additional Election Commissioner Saman Sri Ratnayake said, that action would be taken regarding the display of cut-outs and posters illegally using candidates’ and politicians’ images.
