Colombo – Katunayake Expressway Users Advised to Use Alternative Roads As From 10th

The RDA said the move is taken to facilitate the commencement of the construction of new bridge.
In a media release issued by the Director General of the RDA  says, that to facilitate the commencement of the construction of  a new bridge, the traffic exit from Colombo – Katunayake Expressway to Colombo-Kandy Road, New Kelani Bridge towards Kelaniya and Wattala will be closed with effect from 10th of January 2018.
Hence, motorists are advised to use the following alternative routes:
The motorists driving towards Colombo can use the CKE as usual and the motorists arriving from Colombo and going towards Kelaniya and Wattala by using exit ramp at New Kelani Bridge are advised to use following alternative roads.
  1. Motorists coming from CKE towards Kelaniya and Peliyagoda can use Peliyagoda interchange to enter Colombo-Kandy Road (A1).
  2. Motorists coming from CKE towards Wattala and Peliyagoda can use Peliyagoda interchange to enter Colombo-Negombo Road (A3).
