Rajagiriya Flyover Will Be Opened  by President on January 8

In order to reduce traffic congestion in Colombo, the good governance government proposed to construct a flyover at Rajagiriya at a cost of Rs 4,700 million.

The construction of the flyover was completed a year ahead of the scheduled date upon the instructions of the President, it is reported.

The four-lane-flyover constructed under a Spanish Flyover Project and a local company is 534 meters in length and consists of a 180 meter access road.

A number of roads will be developed parallel to this, and an alternative road will be constructed towards Narahenpita.

The flyover will be declared open under the patronage of the President Maithripala Sirisena, President Media reported.
